In DORF 2018 Secret history of rock selection, during August in Primosten and Vinkovci, music documentary fans will have a chance to watch – along with 6 movies in regional selection – 10 movies from USA, UK, Germany, Belgium, Greece, France, Ireland and Italy.
Most expected DORF 2018 screenings are great last year’s festival gems “Betty:They Say I’m Different”, Phil Cox (UK), about extraordinary funk diva Betty Davis. Phil Cox will attend screenings and present movie to our audience. Another premiere we are so proud of is “Bunch of Kunst”, about brilliant english punks Sleaford Mods, by Christine Franz (Germany).
Regional music documentary fans will be presented “Invisible Hands”, about interesting project of iconic underground musician Alan Bishop (ex-Sun City Girls), filmed by Marina Gioti and Georges Salameh (Greece), exciting musical journey to Cairo. In this selection we have “Potential of noise – Conny Plank” about german genius and visionary, important producer and creator of unique sound, Conny Plank, by authors Stephen Plank and Reto Caduff (Germany).
Extraordinary belgian road mockumentary „Spit’n’split“ by Jerome Vanderwattyne is one of most interesting documentaries ever screened at DORF, real underground masterpiece, with unexpected ending and exciting soundtrack (Experimental Tropic Blues Band).
Three shorts in this year’s edition are: “Hannah Williams&The Affirmations Tokyo Tour 2018”, by Fred Feuillet (France) , awarded “More than a barbershop”, by Fernando Perandones and Xandru Ramirez (Ireland) and „We’re loud – 10 Slovenly days in Greece“ by Enrico Stocco (Italy).
During our warm-up events in Zagreb, 3.6. we had screening of cult movie “Ghetto – secret life of the city”, about underground scene in Belgrade during 90’s, by Mladena Matičević and Ivan Markov.
In the same sessions on 8.7. we’ve screened in Vintage industrial bar„Danny says“ by author Brendan Tollera (USA), about manager and promoter Danny Fields, one of the most important persons in the history of punk rock music.
